JUWEL Phorax

JUWEL Phorax is a cartridge made of filter material specially designed for JUWEL settling filters.
Phorax is designed to break down phosphates in your aquarium. It effectively reduces algae growth and can help significantly improve plant growth.
Phosphates are regularly introduced into the aquarium through fish food and are hardly broken down by natural processes. However, plants only require trace amounts of phosphate for their natural growth (freshwater: 0.05 mg/l, seawater 0.01 mg/l). Excess phosphates can trigger algae blooms.
Phorax is composed of an aluminum-rich mineral, which binds dissolved phosphate to form an insoluble aluminum phosphate, thereby removing the phosphate from the water.
This is why JUWEL Phorax is very effective up to 12 mg of phosphate per gram of Phorax.

The use of a special basket adapted to the size of your JUWEL filter guarantees easy handling, while the optimized filling quantity allows the product to be left in place for a long time, up to one year.
