To help you read the dates on packaging correctly, here is a simple explanation of the "use by" date and the "best before" date.
Did you know that the phrase "best before" indicates that the food can still be sold and consumed after the date indicated?
So don't confuse the DDM and the DLC.

DLC: Best Before End
The "use-by" date corresponds to the date until which a highly perishable product can be safely used or consumed.
It is indicated on the packaging by the phrase: "Use by…" (or sometimes "Use by…").

DDM: Best Before End Date
The "best before" date indicates the date until which the manufacturer guarantees that the product retains all its qualities (taste, texture, crunchiness, nutritional value, color, etc.).
It is indicated by the phrase: "Best before…" and mainly concerns products such as non-perishable foods.
You will find dry, sterilized, freeze-dried and dehydrated products such as fish food and dog treats ).

La Boutique Des Animaux is committed to offering only products with a best before date of less than 3 months, except for dry food, which is limited to 6 months.
