Exhaust filter
An exhaust filter is a filtration system powered solely by air and operates on the principle of mammoth pumps.
An air pump supplies air to the discharge pipe through a flexible hose. The air drives the aquarium water inside upwards, the water flows through the fine filter sponge with an optimal surface area and thus mechanically cleans the aquarium water.
The operating principle is simple and economical. An air inlet must be placed on a pipe originating from a compressor or an air pump .
The aquarium water is then sucked in and filtered through foam for simple filters. For premium models, the water will first be filtered through foam followed by a ceramic section allowing mechanical and biological filtration.
